About Us

HELLO, KIA ORA!

We’re Josie and Nathan and we’re moving to New Zealand to buy a campervan and begin an exciting adventure together. The plan is to not make much of a plan but work it out along the way and discover everything that Aotearoa has to offer.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

We met in London in 2021 at a mutual friend's house party, but it turns out we had a lot of shared history before this! We both grew up in Devon, Nathan in North Devon and me (Josie) in South Devon. We also both went to Durham University and attended Grey College - even both living in the same accommodation block in the first year! A few years, and many missed meetings later, we got chatting at this party in London and quickly bonded over a mutual love of Formula 1, or more specifically, a love for Max Verstappen! Despite the distance between us - Nathan was living on the Isle of Wight at the time and I was in London - we got to know each other over the following months and a short Covid isolation in the new year was enough to seal the deal.

Fast forward to autumn 2022 and while Nathan had moved to London to start a new job, I had taken up a role in Athens and our medium-distance relationship had become very much long distance. After a year of trips back and forth to Europe, we decided to follow our passion for adventure and explore the world… and what better place to start than in New Zealand!

MAKING THE LEAP

On 16th September 2023, we will finally be making the leap and jumping on a plane from London to Auckland.

THE NO-PLAN PLAN

As mentioned at the start, we’re trying to keep our plans open and flexible to allow us to make the most of our time in New Zealand, which needless to say goes against both of our natures! Once we’ve bought a van, we're going to head up to the Northland and the northernmost tip of New Zealand - Cape Reinga. We'll then begin our journey south, zig-zagging through the North, then South Island, with a goal of ending up in Queenstown for the ski season. We hope you'll follow along with us on our 'Kiwi-ous' adventures!
